This course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for knowledge, understanding and proficiency in Table A-II/2 of STCW-78 for the function Navigation at the Management Level

This course aims to teach students about weather phenomena, the nature of tropical cyclones and gales, weather analysis and forecasts, and weather routing charts. It also aims to help them understand elements of Physical Oceanography, the mechanics of ocean currents, waves and their relations with navigation principles, climate changes and their causes, ice formation, ice types, and basic ice navigation.
